Something important has been missing.
For many of us who work in association publishing, marketing, and communications, there has been a real gap since the Association Media & Publishing Network Association Council dissolved in 2023.
We lost more than a group. We lost our community. We lost a place to learn, connect, trade ideas, celebrate great work, and feel understood by people who know exactly what it means to serve association audiences.
I've missed that. And I have a feeling you have too.
That's why I'm excited to introduce Association Publishing & Communication Professionals, a new association built for the people who shape the stories, strategies, publications, campaigns, and communications that help associations thrive.
I haven't been alone on this journey. Many thoughtful and generous colleagues have helped shape this organization from the beginning, including:
- Emily Fullerton, Sheridan
- Lilia LaGeese, Heard Creative Co.
- Ronn Levine, freelance writer
- Mark Mohanna, Mohanna Sales Representatives
- Alexis Redmond, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Lindsay Robinson, National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies
- Damita Snow, American Society of Civil Engineers
- Joe Stella, BackPocket Agency
- Stacy Brooks Whatley, American Counseling Association
- Louanne Welgoss, LTD Creative
So, this is where you come in.
We are ready to roll, and we want you to be part of our origin story. Please provide your contact information so you can be included from the start. You'll be the first to hear about our programs, national events, local meetups and other opportunities the moment they're announced.
And if you want to help, let us know. We'll soon begin forming committees, organizing our first offerings, scheduling opportunities to connect, crafting the first newsletter, and putting the pieces in place for what comes next.
We need sponsorships, too! If you're an industry service provider, we would love to invite you in to discuss opportunities to forge deeper relationships with our community.
All this is coming together quickly, so don't wait to get involved. We want you with us from the beginning.
Because this is more than the launch of a new association. It's the return of our community.
Sincerely,

Director of Publications, National Ground Water Association
